The sons of Levi; Gershom, Qehat, and Merari.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom; Livni, and Shim῾i.

And the sons of Qehat were, ῾Amram, and Yiżhar, and Ḥevron, and ῾Uzzi᾽el.

The sons of Merari; Maĥli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

Of Gershom; Livni his son, Yaĥat his son, Zimma his son,

Yoaĥ his son, ῾Iddo his son, Zeraĥ his son, Ye᾽ateray his son.

The sons of Qehat; ῾Amminadav his son, Qoraĥ his son, Assir his son,

Elqana his son, and Evyasaf his son, and Assir his son,

Taĥat his son, Uri᾽el his son, ῾Uzziyya his son, and Sha᾽ul his son.

And the sons of Elqana; ῾Amasay, and Ahimot.

As for Elqana: the sons of Elqana; Żafay his son, and Naĥat his son.

Eli᾽av his son, Yeroĥam his son, Elqana his son.

And the sons of Shemu᾽el; the firstborn Vashni, and Aviyya.

The sons of Merari; Maĥli, Livni his son, Shim῾i his son, ῾Uzza his son,

Shim῾a his son, Ḥaggiyya his son, ῾Asaya his son.

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after the ark had rest.

And they ministered before the dwelling place of the Tent of Meeting with singing, until Shelomo had built the house of the Lord in Yerushalayim: and then they performed their office according to their order.

And these are the men who served with their sons. Of the sons of the Qehati; Heman the singer, the son of Yo᾽el, the son of Shemu᾽el,

the son of Elqana, the son of Yeroĥam, the son of Eli᾽el, the son of Toaĥ,

the son of Żuf, the son of Elqana, the son of Maĥat, the son of ῾Amasay,

the son of Elqana, the son of Yo᾽el, the son of ῾Azarya, the son of Żefanya,

the son of Taĥat, the son of Assir, the son of Evyasaf, the son of Qoraĥ,

the son of Yiżhar, the son of Qehat, the son of Levi, the son of Yisra᾽el,

and his brother Asaf, who stood on his right hand, Asaf the son of Berekhyahu, son of Shim῾a,

the son of Mikha᾽el, the son of Ba῾aseya, the son of Malkiyya,

the son of Etni, the son of Zeraĥ, the son of ῾Adaya,

the son of Etan, the son of Zimma, the son of Shim῾i,

the son of Yaĥat, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Etan the son of Qishi, the son of ῾Avdi, the son of Mallukh,

the son of Ḥashavya, the son of Amażya, the son of Ḥilqiyya,

the son of Amżi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

the son of Maĥli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

And their brethren the Levites were appointed to all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

But Aharon and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Yisra᾽el, according to all that Moshe the servant of God had commanded.

And these are the sons of Aharon; El῾azar his son, Pineĥas his son, Avishua his son,

Buqqi his son, ῾Uzzi his son, Zeraĥya his son,

Merayot his son, Amarya his son, Aĥituv his son,

Żadoq his son, Aĥima῾aż his son.

Now these are their dwelling places throughout their encampments in their borders, of the sons of Aharon, of the families of the Qehati: for theirs was the lot.

And they gave them Ḥevron in the land of Yehuda, and its pasture lands round about it.

But the fields of the city, and its farmsteads, they gave to Kalev the son of Yefunne.

And to the sons of Aharon they gave the cities of refuge, Ḥevron, and Livna with its pasture lands, and Yattir, and Eshtemoa, with its pasture lands,

and Ḥilen with its pasture lands, Devir with its pasture lands,

and ῾Ashan with its pasture lands, and Bet-shemesh with its pasture lands:

and out of the tribe of Binyamin; Geva with its pasture lands, and ῾Alemet with its pasture lands, and ῾Anatot with its pasture lands. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

And to the rest of the sons of Kehat, were given by lot, out of the family of that tribe, out of the half tribe, the half of Menashshe, ten cities.

And to the sons of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Yissakhar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naftali, and out of the tribe of Menashshe in the Bashan, thirteen cities.

To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Re᾽uven, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zevulun, twelve cities.

And the children of Yisra᾽el gave to the Levites these cities with their pasture lands.

And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Yehuda and out of the tribe of the children of Shim῾on, and out of the tribe of the children of Binyamin, these cities, which are mentioned by names.

And some of the families of the sons of Qehat had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Efrayim.

For they gave to them the cities of refuge, Shekhem in mount Efrayim with its pasture lands; and Gezer with its pasture lands,

and Yoqme῾am with its pasture lands, and Bet-ĥoron with its pasture lands,

and Ayyalon with its pasture lands, and Gat-rimmon with its pasture lands:

and out of the half tribe of Menashshe; ῾Aner with its pasture lands, and Bil῾am with its pasture lands, for the family of the remnant of the sons of Qehat.

To the sons of Gershom were given out of the family of the half tribe of Menashshe, Golan in the Bashan with its pasture lands, and ῾Ashtarot with its pasture lands:

and out of the tribe of Yissakhar; Qedesh with its pasture lands, Daverat, with its pasture lands,

and Ramot with its pasture lands, and ῾Anam with its pasture lands:

and out of the tribe of Asher; Mashal with its pasture lands, and ῾Avdon with its pasture lands,

and Ḥuqoq with its pasture lands and Reĥov with its pasture lands:

and out of the tribe of Naftali, Qedesh in the Galil with its pasture lands, and Ḥammon with its pasture lands, and Qiryatayim with its pasture lands.

To the rest of the children of Merari were given out of the tribe of Zevulun, Rimmono with its pasture lands, Tavor with its pasture lands:

and on the other side of Yarden by Yeriĥo, on the east side of the Yarden, were given them out of the tribes of Re᾽uven, Beżer in the wilderness with its pasture lands, and Yahża with its pasture lands,

and Qedemot with its pasture lands, and Mefa῾at with its pasture lands:

and out of the tribe of Gad; Ramot in the Gil῾ad with its pasture lands, and Maĥanayim with its pasture lands,

and Ḥeshbon with its pasture lands, and Ya῾zer with its pasture lands.
