This Acceptable Use Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service §5. Violating it is a breach of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your access.
1. Purpose
Sh'elah exists to make Torah study more accessible. This policy keeps one user's misuse from degrading the Service, misrepresenting its Content, or putting other users at risk.
2. Prohibited Conduct
You may not, and may not attempt to:
- Scrape or bulk-extract: use bots, crawlers, or automated tools to scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract Content, AI Output, or other users' data from the Service.
- Misrepresent AI Output: present AI Output as a binding halachic ruling, as coming from a human rabbi, or otherwise as more authoritative than an educational, AI-generated synthesis.
- Circumvent limits: bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, authentication, or other access controls.
- Attack the Service: probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or attempt unauthorized access to any system, account, or data (except through our security-review/disclosure process: contact us first).
- Distribute malware: upload, transmit, or link to viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a system.
- Harass: harass, threaten, or abuse other users, or use the Service to target, dox, or harm any individual or group.
- Spam or phish: send unsolicited bulk messages, or use the Service to facilitate phishing or fraud.
- Reverse-engineer: decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service, or use its outputs to train a competing AI model at scale.
- Break the law: use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or infringes any third party's rights.
3. Enforcement
Depending on severity, we may respond to a violation with a warning, rate-limit reduction, temporary suspension, permanent termination, and/or a report to law enforcement where warranted. We aim to be proportionate, but reserve the right to act immediately without warning where we believe there is a risk to the Service, other users, or the public.
4. Reporting Abuse
If you encounter conduct that violates this policy, or an AI Output that seems unsafe or inappropriate, please report it:
