Sh'elah displays third-party texts (Sefaria, Hebcal, Wikipedia, and other whitelisted sources) under their own respective licenses (see our Licenses page). If you believe Content on Sh'elah infringes your copyright, this page explains how to tell us.
1. Filing a Notice of Claimed Infringement
If you believe in good faith that Content available through the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated contact (§4) that includes:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and its location on the Service (e.g., the URL), with enough detail for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
2. What Happens Next
Upon receiving a complete, valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and make a good-faith effort to notify the user who submitted it, where applicable.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe material you submitted was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification containing your identification of the material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error, your contact information, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the relevant federal court. We may restore the material after a statutory waiting period unless the original complainant files a court action.
4. Designated Contact
Sh'elah is operated by Akiva Yevdayev, an individual, not a registered company. A DMCA designated agent has been registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (filed under a parent/guardian, Regina Pardilova, as required for that registration) and is listed in the Office's public Designated Agent Directory. Send all copyright notices to the contact below.

5. Repeat Infringers
We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the access of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
